Founded in 2014 by professional musician and mum of two, Kelly Smith, Boogie Monsters are a high quality, live and interactive pop and rock band, entertaining and inspiring a future generation of musicians and music lovers and giving families the opportunity to enjoy a music gig together in a fun and safe environment!
🎸 the band
We regularly run and perform our own sell-out family gigs across Surrey and London, and take bookings to play at parties and family events, including corporate, community and charity events.
These have included The Queen Elizabeth Hall at London’s Southbank Centre, Camp Bestival and The Great Ormond Street Hospital Christmas Parties!
We are professional, fun and friendly musicians with decades of experience playing live, from clubs and festivals, musical theatre and cruise ships to TV and radio and even a travelling Danish circus!
Boogie Monsters are working musicians, performing, teaching, composing and recording in studios, and occasionally you may spot variations in our usual band line-up due to these other commitments.
We are lucky enough to have a fantastic network of equally awesome musicians to hand, and you will always get the same fantastic musical experience with Boogie Monsters!
Boogie Monsters have won multiple awards, including an SBS Award from Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis, a Muddy Stiletto Award for Best Children’s Business and the Family Network National Award for Business Mum of the Year 2019!
🎹 our founder - Kelly Smith
Kelly is a professional musician and piano teacher, specialising in working with adults and children with visual impairments and autism, and teaches part time, alongside running and performing in Boogie Monsters.
Kelly created Boogie Monsters in 2014, when her children were aged 3 and 5 years old, after finding that there was nowhere suitable to take them to see a live pop and rock band perform.
With some like-minded musician friends and family, she formed the band with the aim of providing an awesome musical experience, giving children the opportunity to watch real instruments being played, and for families to enjoy a gig together!
‘I am very proud of what our band have achieved, and I love to see the little ones watching us play and enjoying time on the dance floor with their grown-ups.
I believe they will find the experience exciting and inspiring and that it will begin a life-long love of music, and even encourage them to try out a musical instrument themselves one day!’
Such a good time for the kids (and adults too)… great selection of songs from nursery rhymes with moves to follow to well known pop tunes…
Oh my goodness – this was the best birthday party that we have ever had. The Boogie Monsters sang and played beautifully and kept the children (and adults) really engaged.
Boogie Monsters are brilliant fun for children of all ages – they sound fantastic and their songs are a perfect mix of nursery rhymes and popular tunes that everyone enjoys!
Fun, Fun, Fun! Kids LOVED the Boogie Monsters (and the cuddly mascot!) So nice for the kids to hear real instruments – very inspirational for budding mini-musicians!
We just took our 18month old to the Boogie Monsters Christmas gig … it was superb! Our little boy loved it, & so did we! The band are great … there’s always things going on – bubbles, scarves, percussion, dances…
Wonderful entertainment for families with young children. Lots of well known favourites to sing along to and plenty of audience participation. Never a dull moment – my grandchildren love it!!
The kids loved it such a fantastic experience already booked for the Halloween special
Highly recommended. Boogie Monsters allows children to experience live music at an early age which is paramount. Keep up the great work!
Boogie Monsters performed at my son’s 6th Birthday, they were amazing! Would highly recommend them to anyone who’ll listen
Brilliant fun this morning as Boogie Monsters entertained the kids and plenty of parents at @BoxparkCroydon. Great way to spend a Good Friday!
Such a unique and brilliantly fun event for all the family! We’ve been to a few concerts now and the kids (and big kids…!) thoroughly enjoy the ambience, the rocking music, the dancing, the interaction, the inflatables!..
Kelly is brilliant and their performances are outstanding!!!
Nicki and Kelly engaged groups of pupils with brilliantly interactive performances of songs ranging from pop to nursery rhymes, drawing out some wonderfully surprising and unexpected responses. Those responses highlighted once again the value of the Music for Autism sessions as they encourage communication – as well as providing a highly enjoyable and educational experience.
Boogie Monsters are a band of talented professional musicians who have excelled in introducing music to children by producing shows that involve the audience in dance and play.
Energetic, uplifting and just so much fun! The Boogie Monsters really made my daughter’s 4th birthday party a hit, she loved it and so did her friends. Can’t recommend them highly enough
Thank you so much for entertaining the entire Reception year group … It was such a great start to the year and wonderful to be able to club together and celebrate. The children were captivated!
So much fun! Kids loved it!! Thank you so much to crew!!!
…they entertained our children and young people who have complex needs associated with autism and learning difficulties. Combining a sensory experience with the music really makes them stand out from the crowd…

Boogie Monsters played an hour of rock music for my sons 8th birthday party. They were amazing. Brilliant with the kids and adults! I would totally recommend them. Wish they could come and play at our house every weekend.
Could not recommend Boogie Monsters enough, so much fun, children dancing, singing and playing … Such talented musicians … full of music mash ups and medleys …
